He was born August 7th 1984. He graduated from gloversville high school and recieved a degree from fulton Montgomery community college. He utilized his degree to obtain a job at global foundries as a process integration technician for the last 3 years. . Before that he was a direct support specalist  at liberty arc for many years.

His parents are Janet steenburg and rich steenburg and a step father Dutch Andrews. He has 2 brothers Eric steenburg and Axel Steenburg. He enjoyed times with his family and was especially close to axel who was with him on that fateful day.

He married his wife Kim on June 11, 2016 after spending almost 10 years dating and another 3 wonderful years married. Kim has a son Owen(now 15) from a previous marriage and rich accepted him as his own from day one. They enjoyed the same video games and had alot of the same interests. Everytime a new Marvel movie came out he would let Owen skip school and they would spend the day together. They both looked foward to their days without the girls. In 2008 rich and Kim welcomed their daughter aubrie into the world. She was daddy’s little girl from the beginning . they used to have tea parties every Saturday with her stuffed animals and dress up. Many times rich was found at the gym with nail polish on his fingers and toes. She had a way of bringing out the soft, sweet side of him. As a family they enjoyed playing games and family vacations. Rich was a loving, and amazing father to both his children and his wife. 

Rich had few hobbies because he put so much time in what he truly enjoyed and there wasnt much time left. One of his favorite hobbies was power lifting. He went to the gym daily and pushed himself every day to put up more and more weight. He was very much into fitness. At the time of his passing he was beginning to train with axel to compete in his first competition that June. It was something that brought him and his axel together. Axel was his very best friend. They were so close that they were best man in each others weddings and rich even invited axel and Amy to go on his honeymoon without asking Kim. unfortunately they didnt end up going on the cruise due to the accident. And every year rich, axel and their wives planned to travel the world for their anniversaries which were both in june. Discovering a new place every year. Axel and rich both shared a love for the same video games and a game called dungeons and dragons.  Rich had a group of very close friends he played every Friday night with for alot of years, some of which were friends from high school. He loved them all and thought of them as family. Every Friday at the house was full of laughter. Rich’s life was full of laughter. And loved to make those around him laugh with his insane, one of a kind sense of humor. That is what most people remember him most for. His loud deep laughter.
