Axel Steenburg

 

​Axel was born in Aug of 89 and was the middle son of Janet and Rick Steenburg and stepson of Lester (Dutch)Andrews Jr. He attended Gloversville schools and FMCC ,the first degree Axel wanted was a degree in criminal law, as extra credit classes he took kick boxing, wrestling and Zen-do-Ki after one year Axel changed his interest and  moved on to obtain an associate degree in Electronic Technology from F.M.C.C.  Shortly after graduating he started working for Global Foundries as a process integration technician for PMO 14 NM yield engineering. Axel decided he wanted to further his education and was enrolled at Excelsior college working towards his bachelor’s degree in this same field.

Axel was born the day after his older brother (Rich’s) 5th birthday and Rich was excited to have as he called him his birthday present, and their bond grew every day. When their younger brother was born 3 years later, the two of them couldn’t wait for him to start walking so they could play with him. The bond the three boys shared was like no other, with Axel right in the middle.

Axel was an easy-going sweet man who loved to laugh and smile and was always ready for a good time his sense of humor and smile was the one thing everyone remembers about him. Axel loved his family and always made time to spend with them, he was very close to both his brothers and was extremely close to his older brother Rich who also passed in this horrific tragedy. Axel and Rich had many of the same interest through their adult years and enjoyed their time together. They worked together, went to the gym together and spent their free time together. Axel and Rich were best man’s in each other’s weddings.

Because of conflicting work schedules with his younger brother Eric, Axel always made it a point to have time with him whether it was dinner together or just a fire.  Axels love for his family and friends never swade, he always took the time to help someone or just stop in and see them.

Axel had numerous friends and a great many interest, he enjoyed video games and power lifting, Axel competed in the gorilla warfare power lifting competition in 2017 and was working towards the 2019 competition with his brother Rich.

Another thing Axel enjoyed was cooking and he was good at it, He would often volunteer to make dishes for different events that he would attend. His chicken wing dip and vegetable lasagna was becoming a real hit with anyone who tried it.
